The Cityjazz Big Band has been the headliner and a professional featured performing group throughout the Wasatch Front. Cityjazz' musicians are music educators and professional musicians who have performed with many other groups including the Utah Symphony, Ballet West, the Salt Lake Jazz Orchestra, and numerous others.
The Band has performed for the Salt Lake City Arts Council, Excellence in the Community/Gallivan Center, Dance for Life, Viridian Center, Mid-Valley Performance Arts Center, the Days of '47, MountainWest Arts Conference, Arts in Education Conference, Brigham City Transcontinental Celebration, Midvale Best of Utah Series, Millcreek Arts, Murray Park concerts, Taylorsville Dayzz, Riverton Park Friday Fun Nights, and the Jaguar student jazz festival in Orem, Utah. The Cityjazz Big Band is conducted by Julie Christofferson, M.Ed., and Emmy award-winning composer and arranger, Dr. Marden Pond. Performances include original compositions along with exciting standard vocals, studio-style jazz, fusion, latin, swing, jazz big band standards, dixieland, and dance music. Cityjazz is a 501 (c)3 organization, and donations are fully tax-deductible and greatly appreciated. Booking and contact information is available on our contact page. The big band and combos are available for events. Discounts are available for nonprofit organizations.
